Alexandra Jackson of "Bossa Nova Noites: 2016 in Rio de Janeiro!" appeared with The Jobim Trio on July 30, 2016.
The Corporate Event
This special event was produced by The Antonio Carlos Jobim Institute – which is located within Rio de Janeiro’s Botanical Gardens. There, The Collection House has a permanent space dedicated to the maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim (Tom Jobim). The Institute’s diverse team includes musicians, researchers, historians, designers and architects, adding considerable expertise to the work of cataloguing each collection.
This multimedia space displays documents, personal objects, photographs, books to be perused and consulted, and iPads for the public to surf the Institute’s web portal. The Institute stores Tom Jobim’s physical and digital personal collection, safeguarding the artist’s original works so that future generations will also have the privilege of knowing them. In parallel, the Institute also runs projects for cataloguing, conserving and providing access to digital collections of other artists who, like Tom Jobim, represent the best of Brazil. Currently the Institute’s digital space contains the collections of Tom Jobim, Lucio Costa, Dorival Caymmi, Chico Buarque and Gilberto Gil.
